At The Felting Fanatic, Kim Armstrong brings her passion for needle felting to life, transforming wool into captivating sculptures and wool paintings in 2D and 3D that resonate with creativity and charm.
I've always been drawn to art, thanks, Mom! Over the years, I've explored many different forms, but when I discovered needle felting, I fell in love. My husband thought it would be just another craft I'd try and eventually move on from… but he was so wrong.
Needle felting brings me a sense of peace, and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. I love bringing people’s ideas to life, shaping wool fiber by fiber, plus a whole lot of stabbing! 😊
The most exciting part for me is hearing what you have in mind. That’s when the creativity kicks in, and I start imagining how to bring your vision to life. I'd love to chat if you're interested in a custom piece! Just fill out the contact form, and I’ll get back to you to discuss the process.
I've created everything from grandchildren with their favorite musical instruments or sports to beloved pets, cars, free-spirited hippies, and even a cozy chair with a dog curled up in it. Oh, and I once made the scariest clown I’ve ever seen, that one definitely gave me a few nightmares!
As for my favorite piece? I genuinely love them all… well, except maybe the clown.
Many needle-felting artists focus on a single subject, such as dogs, people, animals, landscapes, or 2D or 3D work. But I love bringing any idea to life, turning people's visions into unique pieces for their homes.
The timeline for completing a custom artwork can vary depending on the complexity of the project and my current workload. On average, it takes between 4 to 6 weeks from the initial consultation to the final delivery of your art. However, for more specific timelines, please contact me, and I'll be happy to provide a more accurate estimate based on your project.
After the initial consultation, I provide an opportunity for you to review the plan for your art for a couple of days. After this time, no changes to color or size will be able to be made. I have to order wool and other items to make your project. If you want to make a change, you can contact me to see if I have already ordered your fiber or started the armature for your project.
Pricing for custom artwork is determined by several factors, including the size of the artwork, the amount of fiber used, and the complexity of the design. Depending on the project, I will recommend the size needed to get the detail to make the art look its best. The smaller the size, the less detail can be added. I don’t want you to receive a piece that you won’t be happy with. To get a personalized quote for your project, please reach out to me, and I will provide you with a detailed estimate based on your specific ideas and what type of art you are looking for.
